Toyota Kirloskar Motor Strengthens Quality Of Education In Rural Parts Of Vijayapura Through Developing Infrastructure Across Nine Schools
More than 2,850 students will benefit from this initiative
Vijayapura, 11th August 2026: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced a comprehensive educational development initiative aimed at providing quality education through infrastructure support across 9 government educational institutions in rural parts of Vijayapura district, Karnataka. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and commitment to building a better future through education and community development, the project is expected to positively impact more than 2,850 students while creating improved learning environments for generations to come.
As part of the initiative, TKM conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for infrastructure development at five Government Higher Primary Schools (GHPS)- Agasanahalli, Jambagi, Somadevarhatti, Sutagundi and Nandyal. These schools serve students from over 15 neighbouring villages, offering education from Class 1 to 8 in both Kannada and English. The project includes the construction of additional classrooms, provision of classroom furniture, and development of sanitation facilities to address infrastructure gaps and improve access to essential amenities. The initiative is expected to benefit over 850 students annually. It is also expected to ensure adequate classroom capacity, significantly improve girl’s attendance and increase student enrolment by 15%.
The company also inaugurated newly developed educational infrastructure at 4 government institutions in Babaleshwar, Vijayapura- Karnataka Public School, Mamadapura; Government High School, Hebbalahatti; Government High School, Bolchikalakki; and Government PU College, Arjunagi. The completed infrastructure includes new classrooms, upgraded sanitation facilities, improved kitchen infrastructure to support mid-day meal programmes and essential classroom furniture to create safer, more conducive and student-friendly learning environments. The initiative is expected to positively impact more than 2,000 students annually.
The ceremonies were held in the presence of Dr. M. B. Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, Mr. Ramesh Rao, Vice President and senior leadership from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. B.
