Mumbai, India, 6th June 2025: Convergint, a global leader in service-based systems integration, reaffirmed its commitment to community empowerment by implementing its signature STEP (Secure, Transform, Empower, Partner) Up for Schools initiative at PM SHRI School, Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, today.

Designed to uplift under-resourced educational institutions by enhancing safety and learning environments, the initiative saw 40 Convergint colleagues volunteer their time and expertise to complete key infrastructure and technology upgrades.

The project included upgrading the school’s existing video surveillance systems with the addition of five new surveillance cameras, significantly strengthening campus security. In addition, the team provided essential infrastructure, including a refrigerator for cold storage, two bookshelves, two noticeboards, and a Wi-Fi router - improving access to digital resources and classroom functionality.

Sandeep Kumar, Service Delivery Manager, Data Centres, Convergint India, who led the initiative locally, said Through the STEP Up for Schools initiative, our goal is not just to deliver technology, but to drive meaningful and lasting change. PM SHRI School embodies the spirit of holistic and inclusive education, and it’s a privilege for us to support their commitment by helping build a safer and more connected learning environment for both students and educators.”

Manasi Mangesh Surve, Principal of PM SHRI School, expressed her gratitude “At PM SHRI School, we are committed to creating an inclusive, and technology-enabled learning environment. The support from Convergint has not only strengthened our school’s security infrastructure but also added meaningful amenities that will enhance our everyday learning experience. These upgrades ensure our students and teachers feel safe, empowered, and equipped to thrive. We deeply value this collaboration and its positive impact on our school community.”

Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools initiative is part of its broader social responsibility mission, with over 7488 global colleagues participating this year to improve infrastructure and safety in underserved schools and communities across 37 countries.
