Tribute to the greatest child-king in Indian history: Ashutosh Rana shares his excitement on playing Chand Bardai in Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan

Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming historical drama Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan is all set to take viewers on a grand journey into the life of one of India’s greatest warrior kings. A tribute to the greatest child-king in Indian history, the show traces the early life and heroic rise of Prithviraj Chauhan - a young prince who kept his nation first and turned into a fearless ruler, renowned for his wisdom, courage, and strength. Through powerful storytelling and rich visuals, the show brings to life the defining battles between greatest villain Muhammad Ghori and the fearless protector Prithviraj Chauhan. Along with this, viewers will also get to experience personal challenges, and timeless legacy of a king who still lives on in Indian folklore and pride.

Adding depth to this powerful narrative is veteran actor Ashutosh Rana, who steps in as the voice and soul of the story, playing Chand Bardai - Prithviraj Chauhan’s close friend and legendary court poet. For Ashutosh Rana, this isn’t just a role, it’s a full-circle moment rooted in childhood wonder and deep respect.

He shares, “I grew up listening to the tales of Prithviraj Chauhan and Chand Bardai. I also had the opportunity to be part of the play Prithviraj Ki Aankhen. This story didn’t just move me; it filled me with immense pride. Portraying Chand Bardai was always on my wish list, and what adds to the joy is lending my voice as the narrator for this magnificent historical saga. Stories about Prithviraj Chauhan his unmatched bravery, wisdom, and spirit left a deep impact on me. To now be a part of bringing that legend to life is truly special. The emotions I carry, rooted in strength, passion, and reverence, resonate closely with the spirit of this show.”

Ashutosh Rana believes that voice carries emotion, and emotion carries memory. With his signature gravitas and deep connection to the story, he hopes to make viewers not just watch, but feel history.

Watch Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan starting 4th June, every Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM, only on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
