Teaser shows glimpses amidst grand celebrations
Marathi cinema is flourishing in all directions; may it be its recently increased visibility and performance in international film festivals or its sky-rocketing success in the box offices. As a result, the Marathi film industry is acting like a magnet for celebrities and artists across the world. One of the stars that has taken interest in Marathi films is renowned Bollywood actress Elli AvrRam. Elli AvrRam. who has a secure footing in Bollywood, is now making her debut in the Marathi filmscape in the new film ‘ILU ILU’.
‘ILU ILU’ is Produced by Phalke Films Entertainment production and directed by Ajinkya Bapu Phalke, this romantic film ‘Ilu Ilu’ is striking the theaters on 31st January. The teaser for this film was screened during an eventful and spirited celebration, where star Elli AvrRam. swayed and awed the crowd, after she performed on the film’s romantic song ‘ILU ILU’.
Elli AvrRam began her journey in Bollywood in 2013 in the film ‘Mickey Virus’ and has starred since then, in not only Hindi films like ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’, ‘Poster Boys’, ‘Naam Shabana’, ‘Bazaar’, ‘Malang’, ‘Koi Janne Na,’, ‘Goodbye’, but has also acted in Tamil and Kannada films. Elli is going to assume the role of a character called ‘Ms. Pinto’ who is the central protagonist of the story. Elli has burnt the midnight oil to prepare for this role. Despite being unfamiliar with the language, she has taken up the challenge audaciously and confidently, to play the lead in a Marathi film and audiences will surely view her efforts on the screen once the film is out.
“I’ve always had a liking to learn new things," says Elli about entering the Marathi film industry. After working in Swedish, Hindi,Tamil and Kannada language films, I now have the exciting opportunity to explore the sensibilities of Marathi as language through the film ‘ILU ILU’ The character I play in this film is quite different from the roles that I have embodied in the past. I’m going to present myself to the audience with a newer, refashioned look. When I was first offered the part for this film, I was a bit nervous, but after reading the script and absorbing the character, it struck me that this is the perfect opportunity to make a breakthrough and that realization led to an affirmative response.”
To watch Elli in her most authentic Marathi aesthetic, not only are Marathi audiences enthused, but so is Elli’s existing fanbase.
Along with Elli AvrRam, Veena Jamkar, Aaroha Velankar, Meera Jagannath, Vanita Kharat, Shreekant Yadav, Kamlakar Satpute, Ananda Karekar, Nishant Bhavsar, Ankita Lande, Gaurav Kaluste, Yash Sanas, Soham Kalokhe, Aarya Kakde Joshi, Siddhest Lingayat are some of the artists contributing in the film.
The story and dialogue of the film ‘ILU ILU’ is written by Nitin Vijay Supekar; produced by Balasaheb Phalke and Hindavi Phalke. The film is co-produced by Yash Manohar Sanas. The cinematography is carried out by Yogesh Koli while the editing is done by Nitesh Rathode. The songs are written by Vaibhav Johsi, Vaibhav Deshmukh and Prashant Madpuwar and are brought to life by the voices of Avdhut Gupte, Hrishikesh Ranade, Aarya Ambekar, Rohit Raut, Janardan Khandalkar. The music is composed by Rohit Nag Bhide and Vijay Gawande. Yogesh Ingle has assumed the position of the art director for the film.
‘ILU ILU’ is releasing on 31st January.
