Fuel saving is the need of the hour for sustainable development along with environment conservation - Minister Shri.Ravindra Chavan

Mumbai, 24th : “Considering that fuel saving is the need of the hour for the country’s energy security, sustainable development and environmental protection, it is necessary to create public awareness for fuel saving at all levels”, said Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Ravindra Chavan.

Defense Capacity Festival (Saksham-2023) has been organized at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Auditorium on behalf of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Natural Resources and State Level Coordinating Committee of Oil Industry to save and save natural fuel. At the inauguration of this program, Minister Shri. Chavan was speaking.

On this occasion BPCL Executive Director Anil Kumar P, Indian Oil Regional Manager Ajit Dhakras, Rajeev Shrestha, HPCL Manager Akela vs. ANS. K. Laxman Rao, GAIL Manager Shantanu Basu, officials of PCRA were present.

Minister Shri. Chavan said that Maharashtra has done well in ‘Saksham 2022’. It is a matter of great pride that under the initiative of fuel saving, it has won the highest position in the country by conducting the most programs in the state. Promote and publicize this initiative as much as possible and spread the message of fuel saving from door to door. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also brought the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to every home and on this line Energy Protection Net Zero should carry out promotion and publicity activities of this initiative across the state. Minister Chavan also said that the new generation should understand these challenges.

On this occasion, students presented various dramas on fuel saving. Also, the winners of various debate competitions were felicitated. Teachers were also felicitated.

Santosh Nivendkar, Maharashtra State Coordinator of Oil Industry, said that during the period of 24th April to 8th May 2023, Defense Capability Festival ‘Saksham-2023’ has been organized with the tag line ‘Energy Conservation Towards Net Zero’. More than 1000 various programs have been organized through (PCRA), Additional Director Nandan Gajbhiye thanked.
