Indian oil Soma Ghosh Women's Day Special

Indian Oil Corporation invited Dr. Soma Ghosh, Padma Shri, as the Special Guest of Honour on the occasion of Women's Day celebration. The celebration was graced by Shri V Satish Kumar, Director Marketing of IOC and his wife, Mrs. Geetha Lakshmi, Dr. Indira Parikh, Former Professor & Dean of IIM-A & other eminent guests. It was a treat for the eyes to see all the Executives of IOC present with their wives, in the ocassion!!

Hon. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji had appointed Dr. Ghosh as the Ambassador for Beti Bachao, Beti Padho Abhiyan in 2018. Ever since, Dr. Ghosh has been speaking & singing for this noble cause with students of schools & colleges across the country. This afternoon, Dr. Ghosh, who is the adopted daughter of Bharat Ratna Ust. Bismillah Khan and the daughter-in-law of the legendary Writer, Screenplay writer Shri Navendu Ghosh, spoke about the highlights of her life and the turning points she experienced in her life's journey in Mumbai. 

The summary of which was strength of character and tireless hard work. She then spoke of great Poetess/Shayras who made a mark in their work, society and country, such as, Padma Shri Mumtaz Mirza, Actress Meena Kumari, Parveen Shakir of Pakistan, Anju Fatehpuri and Actress & Poetess Deepti Mishra and the legendary Lata Mangeshkar Ji; and sang one Ghazal written by each of them and a tribute song on Lata ji written by Mrs Alka Sigtia.
Dr. Ghosh was warmly felicitated by Director Marketing Mr. V Satish Kumar.
