Godrej Interio's aim is to grow essential furniture products for the education sector in India

Mumbai , 3 October 2023 – Godrej Interio, the flagship company of Godrej Group, Godrej & Boyce, is active in the home and institutional furniture sector in India and has announced plans to expand into the education sector.

Since its inception, Godrej Interio has catered to the diverse furniture needs of 16,000 educational institutions . In FY23, the company has achieved nearly 100 percent growth in the field of educational furniture. This development is in line with the new education policy announced by the Government of India on July 29, 2020. Emphasizing primary education and raising the standard of education in government schools, this policy is a direction for the bright future of the country's youth.

In order to contribute to this educational revolution, Godrej Interio has collaborated with the Governments of Telangana , Andhra Pradesh , Orissa and Jammu and Kashmir to provide 200,000 school furniture in FY 2023 . The brand is engaged in providing furniture for the educational furniture sector with comprehensive and facility from concept to fitting. Apart from this, Godrej's 100 percent domestically manufactured products contribute significantly to the government's ' Aatmanirbhar Bharat ' policy. This also boosts the furniture spare parts manufacturing system at the local level in the country.

Sameer Joshi, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing (BTUB), Godrej Interio said , ' Education has the potential to shape the future of the world. The literacy rate in the country is increasing from 73 percent in 2011 to 77.7 percent in 2022. Currently 250 million students are studying in the country and India has surpassed other countries in this regard. The education market in India is estimated to reach $225 billion by FY25. There is a need for innovative methods of education to bring about a radical change in the current education sector. Properly designed furniture plays an important role in perfecting such an educational system. Godrej Interio has a special focus on creating institutional furniture for the education sector that will help elevate the learning experience of the next generation. By FY 25, we aim to achieve a 30 percent share in the education market. '
