David Gordon Green shares his thoughts of the impact of the Exorcist franchise in India in a PVR INOX exclusive; here’s what he said!
Continuing its ongoing initiative of making international cinema closer to India with some insightful and interesting initiatives, PVR INOX deputed a renowned film critic to interview the cast and crew of The Exorcist: Believer in Los Angeles. The interview featuring Director David Gordon Green and Producer Jason Blum, is posted on PVR’s & INOX’s YouTube channels, while exciting snippets highlighting exclusive insights and anecdotes from the conversation with the celebrated talent will also be shared on the social media pages of PVR and INOX.
When asked about how Hollywood cinema travelled to India in the 70s with Exorcist and the impact that the film had, David Gordon Green said, “So the idea that you could take something international, that did have that effect on culture, that has reverberated for 50 years, and then to take that epic notion and then bring something intimate and pure and personal to it is as great, of a creative and business opportunity as you can find in an industry that I don't know. I just find so many avenues of my imagination starting to open. Once you say the exorcist, I see a blank canvas and it's time to make movies.”
The Exorcist: Believer is a story unfolding a chain of events that forces single father Victor Fielding to confront the nadir of evil when his daughter, Angela, and her friend Katherine, show signs of demonic possession. Terrified and desperate, he seeks out Chris MacNeil, the only person alive who's witnessed anything like it before. The film releases on 6th October 2023 and can be watched at your nearest PVR INOX cinemas.
